It has been raining in Maine for three weeks.  The rivers are broad and brown like sudden Mississippis.  Dooryards are disappearing in uncut weeds and unsplit firewood. There is moss growing on fenceposts, even clean clothes smell like used sandals, and people in the post office look a little bit edgy.   (more…)
